Final Collection

My final collection was inspired by the leaps in sportswear made by Bonnie Cashin in the 1950's. This means lots of casual leather and and a loose oriental inspired silhouette with ample opportunities to layer and mix and match. The color and visual palette comes from the painting of Pierneef, a south African/Belgium painter. Called the father of African pop art, Pierneef was an expert in monumental landscape paintings.

Methods Final Jacket

Made of a lime green cotton crepe and a soft peachy leather. Magnetic closures are hidden in the lining. Welt pocket in leather and lining of the collar in suede.

Basic Button Down

Basic button down done in some exciting fabric from The City quilter.

Evening Wear Opposite Designer Collection

For this collection our class chose an opposite designer for each person which we subsequently had to had to design under the stipulation that we would be designing for that brand. The opposite designer chosen for me was Roberto Cavalli, to which I can say there is no one more opposite of me. Additionally I used the work of art nouveau era architectural god Victor Horta as inspiration.

Group Project Menswear

This collection was completed as a group of 4 in my concepts class, myself being responsible for about half of the designs as well as the drawing of the finishes and making the mockup of the magnetic closure. The set is inspired by the "Habitat '67" apartment complex near Montreal.

Same Dress, Different Flare Points

I made this dress from the same pattern but on the second one I raised the flare point from the waist rather then from the hip.
